My Convention Sketchbook 2003-2013 #12 Mick Gray

If I was hiring a PR person for a comic book I was working on, or for wheels of Velveeta cheese, I’d hire Mick Gray.  He is one of the friendliest, and most engaging chaps I’ve met along the way, while walking many a convention floor.  In 2004, at SDCC, he drew me this iconic silhouette of Promethea’s head in my sketchbook while he told tales of his early days as a comics inker, and how honored he was when he got the chance to ink over some of “King” Kirby’s pencils right before Jack passed away.  So, if you’re ever in Artist’s Alley, do yourself a favor, and go talk to Mick Gray!  He’ll put a smile on your face, and maybe a doodle in your book..
