My Convention Sketchbook 2003-2013 #63: Bob Burden

I don’t care what anyone else says; I think that Mystery Men is a much better movie than 90% of all superhero movies, even those dreary, boring Dark Knight films(well made, but…zzz…) That is because of the mad genius behind those Mystery Men, the elusive, and dare I say eccentric Bob Burden?? Flaming Carrot is one of my favorite characters, and the comics are iconic, and emblematic of the “wild west” that was the early 80’s indy comics scene. I love that Mr. Burden even gave me a scene full of characters, and attitude in this convention sketch. Thank you, Bob Burden, and long live Flaming Carrot comics!                               *note: this was drawn at Wizard World Los Angeles 2006, Long Beach Convention Center, so chronologically this belongs before the SDCC ’06 sketches at #58 -oops!
