Writer/artist David McAdoo drew me this awesome raven character, named Krigg, from his self-published graphic novel Red Moon. Back in 2010, I was sharing a table at APE with my friend Jon, and we had the pleasure of being convention neighbors with 2 kind gents, the aforementioned David McAdoo, and his buddy, Steve Kozak, who helped produce & edit Red Moon.
Red Moon is a charming adventure story about 2 dogs, Mox & Daeden, who explore a dangerous world full of strange visions, and horrific enemies. All of the main characters are animals, and the story reminded me a little of one of my favorite animated films, The Secret of NIMH. The artwork by McAdoo is highly detailed in black & white with some selective use of the color red as a narrative device, which I thought was a really nice touch.
You can order a copy of Red Moon, and the first issue of the follow-up series, Shadow of the Red Moon, here.
